Eating the wrong foods leads to the majority of health problems we have in America. The one that garners the most attention is excess bodyfat. Excess bodyfat is caused by consuming foods which contain fructose, such as fruits, sucrose, such as cakes and other desserts, and glycogen such as rice, potatoes, and pasta. All these foods become glucose once eaten which causes the body to store fat. Whereas eating meat from seafood, cows, pigs, and other animals is the healthiest way to nourish the body, eating sugar poisons it.
Through most of human existence we have consumed only meat which keeps us in our natural state of ketosis. When we are not in ketosis due to the consumption of sugar and all its cousins, then we gradually sicken. This sick state of a glucose metabolism is what we can use when our primary animal based food is not available, but the longer we remain on sugar the more harm it causes. Many common modern diseases are caused by sugar consumption or, more accurately, by being out of ketosis our natural healthy state.
Bodyfat is the least problematic of the illnesses caused by sugar. There are countless others which are hard to pin down because they are different versions of the same problem. When the body is not in ketosis it is in a state of stress. When stressed the body cannot heal properly, even though it can survive for a lifetime.
The nutritional philosophy of eating fruits and vegetables for health was born out of class economics. Meat has always been hoarded by the wealthy and farm raised plants were used to feed animals and poor people. As poor people evolved into today’s middle class they developed their eating habits through necessity. Today we have many cultures around the world with many delicious fruit and vegetable dishes, born out of poverty and laws that made consumption of meat illegal or expensive. This reliance on fruits and vegetables is the reason poor people suffer higher levels of disease and obesity than their wealthy adversaries.
Humans do not need fruits or vegetables, to be healthy, all we need is healthy animal based foods. Between lion and cow our diets is much more similar to the needs of a lion.
